Vala's Pumpkin Patch

So I'm really enjoying Chad's chosen profession. There are lots of perks. Yesterday, he had a continuing education class at the local pumpkin patch (which we've heard is a must here in the land of the cornhuskers.) So, we got in for free, Chloe got a cowboy hat, and we got a free dinner and vouchers for pumpkins, candied apples, and suckers. There was a TON of stuff to do! Play areas, petting areas, tons to see, haunted and not so haunted houses, apple orchard, paintball, face painting, campfire areas, an apple orchard, hay rides, train rides, panning for gems, pony rides etc. Sadly we didn't get to do everything, but we had SO much fun! They even have a pumpkin cannon. On Nov. 1st, you can take your old jack-o-lanterns and watch them be destroyed, blown up, etc. How cool is that?! Oh and a 5 acre corn maze, a tribute to the Nebraska Cornhuskers (football-they're big here!) Oh, and we finally got some frozen custard. Ever since I'd heard of it (about 4 years ago) I've wanted to try it and never had the chance. Good stuff! On the ride home, we were all Nasty and exhausted. Both kids zonked out in the car and went straight to sleep after bath time. It was Awesome! Oh, in the not-so-haunted house, (I took a picture of this, but you can't tell what's up in the picture, so let me explain.) you walk along a bridge through a giant spinning barrel. On the barrel is painted spirals that glow in the black light. It was totally trippy! Plays tricks on the eyes. It was really cool. And the best part is, this place was only open by invitation yesterday. Like there was a boy scout group, school group, b-day party, girl scouts, etc. There were tons of people, but it wasn't nearly as crowded as I'm sure it otherwise would've been.
