1st and Last

Yesterday was Everett's 1st birthday and the last one of this year's birthday season for our family.  How were we ever happy before he joined our family?!  He is so much fun.  He has a great sense of humor, and even at a year old, he's still my little cuddle bug.  I love it!  He still likes to have his feet crossed.

And he's starting to learn about the world around him.  He copies us a lot.  Last night, he even copied Chad and Chloe in folding their hands.  Usually it's a big fight to keep him still for prayer time, but he kept his hands folded the WHOLE time last night!!  He also said his first word besides mommy or daddy.  He did the sign for "hungry."  He hasn't done it since, but it's very exciting to see him learning.  He's also finally starting to respect some of the house rules like not playing in the toilet... Ok we're still working on that one.  But he's starting to acknowledge when we tell him no.  He LOVES his milk, and his belly just gets bigger by the day.

Anyway, It was a big exhausting day for all of us, but we all had a lot of fun.  A friend invited us to go to the zoo!  And last night we had dinner, cupcakes, and presents.
