Making a Life...

... no we're not pregnant. We just got back from NC late last night. Sunday, Mom begged to take Chloe to my sister's house with her. So we let her. Monday, they left, we packed up and came back to Chad's parents' house. Tuesday morning, we're packed up, ready to go when Lydia begged to keep Everett. So we let her and got to NC late that night. Wednesday, we spent ALL day house hunting. We narrowed it down to 4. We went out to dinner with a couple of the partners from work. Holy cow! They are wealthy! I was out of my element and nervous, but they were all really sweet.

That night, Chad and I managed to systematically rule out one more house. The next day, we went back to our remaining three. Chad and I were torn between the one with some yard and a screened porch, and the house with no yard but more house (bonus room.) In the end I decided it was better to have more house, especially the one with more space in the living/kitchen, since the kids are always underneath me anyway. It's a house we won't grow out of any time soon, even though there's no yard.

We went to Chad's office to get some paperwork for benefits and work out a few details about what he's going to need when he gets there. Chad is going to be SO SPOILED. All he has to do is voice a need, and it magically appears where he needs it. The techs do EVERYTHING for him. He just has to go in, take a glance in the eye, and he's done. We joked that he's going to so spoiled, he'll come home and say "where's my dinner woman! I already asked once!"

Anyway, after all of that we went back to finish our offer. Before we got back home, it had been accepted. We're working out details and whatnot. Man, it is a lot of work to get a house even outside of actually paying for it. Anyway, we g/g pick out carpet. It's been a whirlwind and hasn't stopped. We have a move in date and a tentative start work date.
