Christmas Weekend

So this is a random photo of Chloe on this crazy little ride at the bus station as we were on our way home Christmas Day.  We also played air hockey.  Chad let me think I was going to win and then Gigi let Chloe think she won.  She seemed so grown up and proud.  She was just so happy to playing a grown up game.  It was fun.  Below is our annual family picture.  Don't feel bad if you didn't get one because no one has.  Can you imagine how much that would cost from Mexico?! Yikes.  The next one is zoomed out so you can see a bit of the house we're living in; it's really cute from the outside.  Oh, Chloe's making a goofy face because she still doesn't like having her picture taken, and Everett's just fascinated with the tiny toy turtle in his hands.

So we made it home safely and Santa had come.  So we got dinner going and opened gifts.  Chloe was so excited she didn't know what to do.  Everett couldn't care less.  He sat there playing with the new toys while Papa opened his gifts.  He got a couple of super hero action figures that Chloe plays with, some books with wheels and a truck that rumbles when you pull a string.  All things truck related are by far his favorite toys - the wheel fascination, 'tis the age I suppose.  Chloe plays with her drum, and Everett's dump truck (it doesn't have wheels).  Oh he also got a little slinky that was a hit.  Chloe got play make-up.  She LOVES it.

After that, we went up stairs to break the pinata.  That was an adventure.  Chloe took some good whacks at it, but we all got a turn.  When it was my turn, Chad was swinging the rope to make it harder and one of the "7 deadly sins" or spikes stabbed me in the face.  A staple cut my nose.  It was fun though.  The funnest part of all was when Everett decided the beast was good and dead, he had his go at it.  He kept walking over and whacking at it with his little drumstick.  It was SO cute!

At dinner, we popped holiday crackers and had fun with the prizes inside.

Friday, we wandered around town.  This is from Le Presa, we live right next to the city dam.  The dam its self is quite nasty, but it's surrounded by two pretty cool parks - not parks to play in, just parks to look at, sit in or pass through.  This first picture is of a wild poinsettia.  The stem was taller than me!  I'd never seen anything like it.  The other two are rock sculptures from the other park.  

Saturday took Papa and Gigi home. We were sad to see them go, but even sadder to not get to go with them. We'll see them in a few weeks, but we're all very ready to go home now.  We're very happy they could come.  We had a great time, learned a lot, and saw a lot.  In fact just about everything is marked off of our To Do in Mexico list.  Which is mostly why we're itching to go now.  But we have one more week before Chad has to go back to work and we hope to live it up by relaxing and leisurely seeing some other things around here.
